Welcome

Dear Friends and Family,

In honor of our beloved Greg, whose 35th birthday would have been this March 19th, we are focusing on what we believe is a deeply meaningful way to honor his memory, beautiful spirit and incredible life.  We are supporting two very important initiatives – the Greg Feldman Surgical Missions to Rwanda of Medical Missions for Children, and the Greg Feldman Residency Balance in Life Program at the Stanford School of Medicine Department of Surgery.  An overview of the two programs is available here

In supporting these initiatives, we celebrate the exceptional human being that Greg was, we carry on his legacy of living a life of purpose and healing others, and we help to “heal the healer.”  We -- Greg’s immediate family -- have made our own financial commitment to both of these critically important programs and respectfully ask you to join us in supporting one or both of these efforts that, like Greg, will make a significant impact on the lives of so many.

Welcome to the memorial site for Dr. Gregory Feldman, who passed away on November 15, 2010. Although probably a mildly biased opinion, all who knew Greg will likely agree with his sister's assessment of him as, "one of the most gifted human beings on the planet -- a brilliant, loving, hilarious, creative, witty, inspiring, talented, driven, sensitive, dear, solidly dependable mensch, who made a remarkable impact on everyone with whom he interacted." We, Greg's friends and family, have established this site as a tribute to his life, a place to share memories and information. It is organized as a blog, with the most recent posts at the top, but to make navigation easier, we'll point out the main sections of the site below:

Memories Of Greg  - (send us yours) - Eulogies - Messages From The Family

Because of the massive size of his personality, heart, humor and generosity, Greg left indelible marks on many lives around him. We couldn't possibly capture all of them, but a sample of these memories is available on the site and grows constantly as people submit their own stories. In addition, many have been leaving their memories and condolensces on the Chicago Tribune's Legacy.com. We have integrated all of those comments here. You can read the text of the eulogies delivered at Greg's funeral, official messages from the family, and if you have your own memory of Greg, please send it to us.

Photos And Videos

Words are powerful, but nothing can quite communicate a scene like a photograph or video. These are just a few of the photos and videos friends have submitted. Given Greg's tendency to fly across the world on medical missions, we're especially proud to have this album of photos from his work in Rwanda.

Music

In addition to being an exceptional doctor, friend, salsa dancer and storyteller, Greg was a talented musician. Whether covering 1990s hits like Iesha, accompanying professional musicians such as Mieka Pauley or composing his own songs, Greg could do far more than carry a tune. Here's a growing collection of the music of Greg Feldman.
